CAPTAINS DAY
WOOLTON

Thursday, July 30 2020

I would ask all of you intending to play the comp at Woolton to firstly read the article on this site regarding the new rules around COVID 19 both on the course and in the clubhouse. These rules (NOT GUIDELINES) are there not only for your own wellbeing but for everyone elses too and must be followed by EVERYONE, NO EXCEPTIONS!

I would also ask you to read the article on ‘KEEPING UP’ slow play is totally unacceptable and the points in the article are there to help keep us all moving.

Now I’ve had my little rant why not come along and play probably one of the friendliest golf clubs on our calendar and enjoy the parkland facilities in the heart of South Liverpool. Take in the wonderful surroundings and enjoy the challenge of the tree lined par 69 golf course with its tight undulating fairways and fabulous well-guarded greens, then relax with a drink in the wonderful clubhouse. Everyone is welcome at Woolton Golf Club, so come and have a great day out.

Food………At the moment you still cant reserve food but can order from the bar on the day if there is a table available for you (6 to a table outside, 4 inside)  There is a selected menu which includes bacon/sausage barm, sandwiches and chips and also now a burger option.

Buggies…….2 buggies are still booked but one person only allowed per buggy (I’ve booked one of them, gettin old now and couldn’t walk after Runcorn so I aint walkin again……………………………EVER!!)

The day will start at around 09:00 if you want to purchase your own bacon butties? 10:10 is the first tee for 18 holes of golf.

For directions use sat nav postcode L25 8SL

Presentation back at the club lounge at 18:00 PLEASE be there on time and anyone who cannot attend after the golf please let me know beforehand.

Weather………..Conversation about the weather is the last refuge of the unimaginative.

Payments………I would like to thank all those who have now moved to paying via the on line banking system as this made everything a lot easier at Runcorn regarding collecting money on the day and paying the course, most courses now are only accepting card payments, so anyone who has not yet changed to this system I would ask to do so for Woolton please.  I did end up with some cash at the end of the day and now the bank is no longer open on a Saturday I have no way of paying this into the account, so it is important that everyone adopts the online paying system as soon as possible, if you are unable to do this for any reason then can I ask that you give a mate your payment and they pay on line for you?

Fourballs will be posted on the website no later than Wednesday 19th of August, please see the list below for those attending, if you’re on the list and can’t make it or if you’re not on the list and would like to attend please let me know ASAP.
